Hon. Seve Fuimaono Te’i is a long-serving Samoan political leader whose parliamentary career spans from 2006–2011 and again from 2025 to the present, representing the constituency of Safata 1 under the FAST Party. Her return to Parliament in 2025 reaffirmed her longstanding influence in Samoan politics, where she has been recognized as one of the women playing a critical role in meeting Samoa’s constitutional gender representation requirements.
In September 2025, Hon. Seve Fuimaono Te’i was appointed Minister for Natural Resources and Environment, a portfolio that also includes oversight of the Legislative Assembly Office and the Fire and Emergency Services Authority. This cabinet appointment positions her at the forefront of national policy concerning environmental management, conservation, climate resilience, forestry, and emergency response coordination—areas of significant importance to Samoa’s long‑term sustainability and disaster preparedness.

Her tenure has not been without challenges. In late 2025, the Electoral Court found her guilty of multiple corrupt practices related to the general election, resulting in her Safata 1 seat being declared vacant and the constituency ordered back to by‑election. Despite this setback, Hon. Seve Fuimaono Te’i remains a prominent figure in national politics, recognized for her long-standing service and leadership within the FAST administration.
