Six women candidates have filed their nominations in the National Capital District and Central to contest the general election. Yesterday, women’s leader Janet Sape entered the race for the Moresby Northwest seat. On Tuesday two female candidates – Veronica Amnol of the Constitutional Democratic Party and independent Linda Rau-Tule – were nominated for the NCD regional seat. Laeko Magaru Bala of the PNG Labour party and Philomena Kassman as independent were nominated for the Central regional seat. Kassman was nominated yesterday. Two of the six female candidates are independent while the rest are party members.
