She is Dellilah Pueka Gore, who polled strongly during the early count, and maintained the lead until the final elimination today.

Interestingly Gore, a former public servant, bea...t her former boss, and sitting Member, Anthony Nene.

Gore, a Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party candidate, is among a group of women, who are giving men candidates, a run for their money, in this national election.

It's too early predict how she'll perform in Parliament, but for the start, she's filled in a huge gap, left vacant by former Member for Moresby South, Dame Carol Kidu's retirement.

She polled 6105 to runner up Henry Amuli's 4112 votes.
